Alkaline Diet: Alkaline Foods for pH Balance

The goal of alkaline diet is to eat foods that burn fat and leave an alkaline residue called ash. The alkaline residue is made up minerals that are rich in magnesium, that are rich in magnesium, zinc, copper, iron and calcium. This diet emphasizes the consumption of foods that are more alkaline than acidic to maintain an elevated pH level. This is because is an unbalanced ph can result in health issues, like cancer, heart disease, obesity, weight problems, allergies, fatigue and premature aging, as well as problems with the nervous system, cardiovascular system and muscles.

Our bodies are designed to operate at a specific pH level. When the body is good working order, the human blood reveals a slightly alkaline pH of about 7.35–7.45. According to the proponents of alkaline diet, a healthy daily diet should consist of 80% alkalizing foods and 20 % percent acidifying foods. On the other hand, over consumption of acidic foods such as meats, dairy products, alcohol, carbonated drinks, coffee, seeds and nuts and convenience foods, will overtime shift your body’s ph level away from its original operating range.

Below is a list of alkaline vegetable, fruits, seasonings, and juices for an alkaline balance diet:

Alkaline vegetables – garlic, asparagus, beets, broccoli, sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, celery, collard, cucumber, eggplant, lettuce, mushrooms, mustard greens, onions, peas, peppers, pumpkin, sea vegetables, squashes, spinach, sweet potatoes and wheat grass

Alkaline fruits – apple, apricot, orange, fresh coconut, raisins, dates, cherries, avocado, banana, cherries, lime, melon, orange, peach, pear, pineapple, tomato and tropical fruits

Alkaline juice – pure water, mineral water, vegetable juices, fresh fruit juice, unpasteurized organic milk, green tea, herbal tea, almond milk and banchi tea

Alkaline spices and seasonings – Ginger, Cinnamon, Sea Salt, Tamari and Chili Pepper

Doing the alkaline balance diet means an increase in the consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables. In addition, foods with preservatives and artificial sweeteners as well as sodas, black tea and acid drinks should be avoided.

Learning which foods to take will help you keep your body’s ideal Ph balance. Moreover, avoid fatty meats, cheese, chocolates, tobacco and sweets and candies.  Also, avoid overcooking your meals because this removes all the nutrition from the food.

So if you want your body to be healthy and energetic, adopt an alkaline diet and make it your lifestyle.
